Stavros holds a degree in Informatics and Computer Engineering from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens and a master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the University of Southampton, focusing on applications for the environment and automation.
He joined the Oceanographic Center at the University of Cyprus as a Special Scientist in the summer of 2009. In 2015, he became a member of the Sustainable Energy Laboratory of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT). In 2020 he registered his own brand, LemonHub.
His research interests include applications of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for environmental problem-solving and renewable energy applications. He has strong expertise in informatics, programming and data management, with scientific publications on geographic data management, visualization technologies and decision-support systems with applications in both terrestrial and marine environments.
He has participated in many European and national funded projects and research missions. He has expertise in decision-making and the development of software- and technology-based solutions.
He has been part of the ideopsis team since its establishment as a long-standing external expert.
