Dr Despoina Kothona

Despoina Kothona received her Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Thessaly in 2020 and her Ph.D. from the University of Western Macedonia in 2026. Her research focuses on the integration of electric vehicles (EVs), renewable energy sources (RES), and energy communities into modern power systems. She currently works as a researcher at the University of Western Macedonia and the Independent Power Transmission Operator (ADMIE), and her main interests include the optimal operation of grids and energy communities, renewable energy production forecasting models, as well as photovoltaic maintenance techniques.
