Dr Stelios Ioannou

    Dr Stelios Ioannou is a multidisciplinary researcher dedicated to advancing system controllability, stability, and optimization. His research emphasizes in the development of simple yet effective, efficient, and commercially viable technologies. With expertise in unmanned robotic systems, precision agriculture, energy storage technologies, and renewable energy integration, his work focuses on delivering innovative solutions to global challenges in energy systems and sustainability.

    He currently serves as the Program Leader for Electrical and Electronic Engineering at UCLan Cyprus (University of Central Lancashire) and lecturer since 2016; and is an active member of the INSPIRE Research Center. He earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida (USF) in 2008, specializing in energy and power systems for mobile robotic applications. His multidisciplinary research experience encompasses unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), unmanned aerial systems (UAS), and the optimization and control of energy and power systems. Additionally, he has conducted extensive research on energy storage technologies, including fuel cells, batteries, and supercapacitors.

    His contributions to the field include a patent, numerous publications in national and international conferences and journals, and recognition through awards, such as Best Design Project in Electronics and Best Presentation. He is a registered professional engineer with the Cyprus Scientific & Technical Chamber (ETEK), the Cyprus Electromechanical Services (EMS), and the State of Florida Board of Professional Engineers.
