Janice Daly

    Knowledge and Relevant Experience

    Janice is a senior Sustainable Finance specialist with 15 years of financial markets experience across multiple jurisdictions and financial products who joined Grant Thornton in 2022 to lead the Sustainable Finance offering in Corporate Finance. 

    Janice has demonstrated experience in the Sustainable Finance markets having developed, ran and issued from well-respected and successful multi-billion EUR Green Bond and Green Finance programmes. In addition, she developed both a market-leading environmental impact methodology for the annual reporting on Green Bonds (UoP Battery Electric Vehicles) and processes for the management of the Green Asset Portfolio and Allocation. As well as Green Bonds, she has undertaken feasibility assessments for the use of sustainable finance instruments e.g. Sustainability-linked funding opportunities and served as an advisor on the creation of an ESG-aligned investment policy for an insurance company. Janice has in-depth knowledge of sustainable finance regulation, products and relevant standards and taxonomies and has extensive sustainable finance investor relations experience. She regularly participates in industry panels regarding the Sustainable Finance Markets.

    Janice has extensive climate-related experience and led on the integration of climate risk in a ECB- regulated financial institution. She developed and executed climate risk assessments and had oversight and contribution to Qualitative and Quantitative Scenario Analysis. She also led key climate-related projects such as implementation of TCFD and the development of Science-based targets.

    Janice has a strong background in Financial Markets and has extensive experience in Debt Capital Markets was responsible for raising funds through the issuance of investment grade medium and long-term funding in EMTN, AMTN, US 144A, Schuldsheinedarlehen and Capital format. She is a specialist in Emerging Markets and has experience across complex regulatory environments, leading risk management strategies across EM markets.

    Professional Qualifications and Memberships

    Janice is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder and holds First Class Master of Science (MSc.) degrees in both Financial Services and Sustainable Development. Over her career, she has held senior roles across Sustainable Finance, Climate Action, Strategic Finance, and Treasury in a European Central Bank (ECB) regulated institution.
