Panayiotis Demetriades graduated in 2010 from the London School of Economics with a First Class Honors Degree in Bachelor of Laws. Ηe has been working at the law firm of Costas P. Demetriades LLC since then, and he is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association since 2011. Panayiotis specialises in energy law, the rules of the electricity market, including the competitive market and the transitional market regulation, the transmission and distribution rules and generally the legal and regulatory framework of electricity.
He has acted for a number of stakeholders in wide range of energy projects, and has extensive experience in (a) the licensing of renewable energy projects; (b) drafting contracts and other legal documents related to the electricity market, including project documents and the legal documentation for the activation of new suppliers; (c) advising on the relevant legislation and regulations; (d) project finance; and (e) collaborations and acquisitions in the energy sector. He was involved, from a legal perspective, in dozens of renewable energy projects with a total capacity of more than 200 MWp.
