
Katerina Tsikaloudaki is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Polytechnic School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). She graduated from the same department in 1997 and completed her doctoral thesis at the Laboratory of Building Construction and Physics in 2003. Her academic career includes her appointment to the Department in 2004 to teach courses such as Building Construction I and II, followed by positions as Lecturer (2006), Assistant Professor (2013), Associate Professor (2017), and, since 2022, Professor.
She has many years of teaching experience in undergraduate and postgraduate programs, teaching courses covering a wide range of topics: “Architectural Design of Buildings,” “Energy Design and Solar Energy Utilization,” “Environmental and Energy Considerations in Building Construction,” “Issues of Building Construction and Physics in Old and Historic Buildings. Pathology and Restoration Interventions,” “Design Interventions in Interior Spaces”. She has supervised and guided numerous master’s theses, doctoral dissertations, and postdoctoral research, contributing to the development of new knowledge and the promotion of research in the field of construction.
Her research and scientific activity include participation in research projects, publications in peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed scientific journals, as well as dozens of scientific conference proceedings. She has authored university textbooks, notes and chapters in books and collective works, and holds patents. She has also participated in professional and scientific bodies, national and international conference committees, and article review committees for scientific journals. From 2005 to 2009, he carried out studies and supervised construction projects, gaining valuable experience in linking theory and practice.
